When will it be ready?
I’m sure every reader is familiar with this enquiry. But actually, it is the wrong question, a better question is:
When do you need it by?
When you think about it “when” is just another parameter that accompanies “what.” The available time is one of the constraints software engineers work under since there are many potentially different solutions to the “what” questions “when” is just one of the constraints to selecting, and designing, a solution.
